November in Sweden: Planning, Workshops, Orange Week - Francesco
November was a much calmer month than October. With no festivities coming up and not much scheduled, work wasn't too demanding. I decided to use this time mainly to plan future workshops and prepare for Orange Week.
We held a very creative workshop for the Mini-Fjället kids—a painting and craft activity at the Rannebergen meeting place, themed around violence. The children had fun and came up with wonderfully imaginative artwork.
For Big-Fjället, we prepared a lot of materials for reflection, since the focus of Orange Week was more targeted toward them. We made flags for use in several social-skills games about violence and how we treat one another, with a strong focus on relationships.
Last but not least, we created the Violence Meter, translating the official version from Nanny's university into Swedish and developing a game where the kids had to complete the meter based on their own understanding. They clearly had a lot to learn from the activity, and hopefully they'll look back at it while it's displayed in Fjället.
